ObjectSight Product Descriptions ObjectSight Suite Enterprise The Enterprise Suite includes the ObjectSight Libraries, the Class Generator, the Controls and both Grid controls to operate with any of the ObjectSight supported databases (Access, DbiSam, Paradox,Interbase, SQL Server, Oracle, SQL Anywhere) and access modes (BDE, ADO). ASTA access can be purchased separately with the Enterprise Suite (See ASTA below). ObjectSight Suite Professional The Professional Suite includes the ObjectSight Libraries, the Class Generator, the Controls and both Grid controls to operate either with an Access, DbiSam, Paradox,or Interbase database using either the BDE or ADO (ADO purchased separately). ObjectSight Libraries, Class Generator and Controls (latest release is 2.0) This is the base set of libraries that provide the base classes for a business object, the Class Generator to generate Business Objects bound to database tables, and a complete set of visual controls that bind to Business Object datasources. The visual controls that ship with ObjectSight are based on the Delphi base component set, and behave identically to the databound controls. The controls included are TosDbEdit, TosDbCheckBox, TosRadioGroup, TosComboBox, TosListBox, TosLookupCombo, TosLookupList, andTosLabel. Support for Raize controls coming in August 2003 ObjectSight Grid Components This includes two powerful grid controls as well as an HTML Grid Page Producer. TosDbTopGrid is based on our TopGrid component and binds to object datasets. It provides grouping, automatic sorting, built-in grid printing, exporting and popup field selector to allow end-user customization at run-time. TosDbTopGrid also comes with a grid totalling component that can be associated with another TosDbTopGrid to provide automatic totalling of grid columns. Every grid in your applicaiton is automatically configured to include the popup menu below to allow your users to easily access the grid features. The Grid Editor on the right is available at design time to configure and save default grid layouts. At run-time, the layout is automatically copied and customized when an end-user adjusts the grid. Tos2dGrid is a unique 2-dimensional grid control that provides no-code assembly of complex grids where each cell is a record (object). Three different datasets are used to configure the grid - one for the left most fixed column, one for the top row and the third for the cross reference of data by X and Y location. Use this grid to create powerful data entry grids such as Time Entry and Pricing grids in a fraction of the time that it would normally take. The TosHTMLGridProducer is a web server component that produces accurate HTML Tables of a Business Object DataSet using pre-defined grid layouts created within the ObjectSight Grid Editor. ADO Support The default database access for ObjectSight is the BDE, but it also provides database access using Active Data Objects (ADO). You will need ADO components to already be installed on your system to use this option. ASTA Support ObjectSight provides the ability to create N-Tier database applications using ASTA Technology Groups ASTA product. ASTA is purchased separately from ASTA Technology Group at www.astatech.com and supports N-Tier database access. With ASTA you can convert an ObjectSight two-tier application into an N-Tier and web-enabled application simply by adding an ASTA ClientSocket and changing the ConnectMode for ObjectSight. NativeDB Support ObjectSight provides the ability to create non-BDE SQL Anywhere database applications using NativeDB available from NativeDB at www.NativeDB.com. SQL Server Direct Access Support ObjectSight provides the ability to create non-BDE SQL Anywhere database applications using SQL Server Direct Access from CoreLab. Source Code ObjectSight also provides the Delphi Source Code for the entire toolset, including the source for the Grid Manager and Class Generator applications. Source code is ONLY available to Suite Enterprise license holders.
